Products made from urethanes are stronger, tougher, and more durable than products made from conventional elastomers and plastics.  Urethanes can be formulated in hardnesses ranging from 20 Shore A, which is softer than a gum eraser to over 70 Shore D – harder than a golf ball.

 

Urethane is extremely tough.  Urethane products often outwear other materials such as rubber, plastics and metals by margins of five to one to as high as fifty to one when severe abrasion is a factor.
